Duo-cam /Radar PTZ camera system

This is an advanced camera system with 2 cameras supported by a radar in same integrated package.The 2 cameras operates in 2 separate spectra to give most information available. One camera is visible / near IR and one is thermal LWIR so they see the world in different ways. Together they see much more than one caamera alone. To this we have added a laser range finder to measure distances optically.

Then there is a radar on same PT unit that can measure and controll how cameras work.

Duo-Cam / Radar PTZ system system is a set of ground reconnaissance command system with multiple sensors and cooperative work. It possesses the functions of rapid searching, detecting, identifying, tracking and positioning over ground moving objects and ultra-low altitude flying targets. This system is mainly used in fields such as border reconnaissance, airport, military bases key areas security and protection, and anti-terrorism for ground and low-altitude reconnaissance and monitoring from a great distance and large areas day and night. 1. Overview

Adopting multiple means of reconnaissance such as photoelectric device, radar, four-rotor wings unmanned video reconnaissance system and acoustic vibration sensor, the Duo-Cam / Radar PTZ system ground reconnaissance command system burdens the fast reconnaissance and supervision of frontier, airport, coast defense and emergency. It aims to fulfill the remote reconnaissance and monitoring of targets within the designated ground and low-altitude areas day and night.

The main reconnaissance objects of the Duo-Cam / Radar PTZ system are moving targets, such as natural person, armed individual solider, armored vehicle, tank and penetration helicopter within protection zone, such as battlefield, ground and low-altitude area.

Duo-Cam / Radar PTZ system can be equipped to the frontier or beach defense regiment, and maneuvering Reconnaissance Company to realize its functions in fields such as border reconnaissance, critical area protection, frontier duty and anti-terrorism, etc.

2. SystemFunction

Duo-Cam / Radar PTZ system system is the scouting equipment for detecting moving target on the ground or in the ultra-low altitude. The system is capable of detecting ground and ultra-low altitude moving targets under complex weather condition, which can fulfill its application requirement of remote reconnaissance and monitoring targets within the designated area day and night.

Duo-Cam / Radar PTZ system possesses the functions of reconnaissance and detection, tracking and identification, information processing, integrated display, intelligent support for emergency, rapid deployment, etc.

2.1 Reconnaissance and Detection

Duo-Cam / Radar PTZ system mainly adopts photoelectric device and radar as its front terminal of detection, the system fulfills the searching, automatic tracking, identifying and positioning of moving targets. Four-rotor wings unmanned video reconnaissance system is used to realize detection in the air to obtain information rapidly. The acoustic vibration sensor implements continuous monitoring over the blind zone and key areas, and the detection of the ground, ultra-low altitude moving targets within the defense area in all-direction and all-weather condition.

Duo-Cam / Radar PTZ system has standard data interfaces, which enables the system to connect with the superior monitoring center through digital microwave devices and to report targets information in time.

2.2 Tracking and Identification

The moving targets within the detection area can be tracked by the radar and photoelectric detector; the trajectory of moving targets will be displayed on the vehicle-mounted monitoring screen, and realize the image identification, display, storage and retrieval at the same time.

2.3 Integrated Information Processing and Display

The system can search, number, and mark multiple targets via data fusion on the basis of multi-sources from radar and photoelectric detection device, etc. The multi-targets comprehensive situation map based on the 3D GIS will be generated in real time. On the comprehensive situation map, target-related video or image, location, velocity information can be displayed from pop-up window by clicking the target. Furthermore, the system can display video and image information sent from the visible light camera, infrared camera or four-rotor wings unmanned video reconnaissance system, and report to the monitoring center.

2.4 Intelligence Support for Emergency

Duo-Cam / Radar PTZ system may deploy quickly to emergency area to detect and track moving targets for remote reconnaissance in all-weather condition. Integrated situation based on GIS may be generated and transferred to the monitoring center in real time, and provide intelligence support in case of emergency.

3. SystemComposition

Duo-Cam / Radar PTZ system consists of the following subsystems: reconnaissance detection subsystem, information processing, display and control subsystem

  •   The reconnaissance detection subsystem includes ground surveillance radar, photoelectric detector; four-rotor wings unmanned video reconnaissance system and acoustic vibration sensor network. The ground surveillance radar and photoelectric detector are designed in unified mode.
  •   The information processing and display control subsystem includes integrated information processing unit, display and control unit, and operation platform. 


  • 3.1 Reconnaissance and Detection Subsystem

The reconnaissance and detection subsystem includes ground surveillance radar, photoelectric detector; four-rotor wings unmanned video reconnaissance system and acoustic vibration sensor network. The subsystem can realize reconnaissance and detection of ground and ultra-low altitude targets. The radar antenna and photoelectric detector turntable are combined together. The appearance is shown as Figure 2.

The reconnaissance detection subsystem integrates radar detection, photoelectric detection, photo processing and precision machinery functions, and realizes searching, early-warning, tracking, identification and location of ground and low-altitude targets day and night. The acoustic vibration sensor network monitors sound and vibration situations in the specified region, integrates information with the radar and photoelectric sensor, and provides early-warning information for video monitoring and radar monitoring.

3.1.1 Ground Surveillance Radar

The ground surveillance radar mainly performs reconnaissance and detection on person, vehicles, as well as ultra-low altitude targets under complex climatic conditions. It is featured with small size, light weight, simple operation and high reliability. There is no rotary driving mechanism and collector ring in radar, so the reliability and continuous working time of the radar are improved significantly.

The ground surveillance radar is composed of antenna unit, electronic unit, display and control terminal, and power supply unit. Compact integrated design is adopted in the system, which makes the system small in size and flexible.

Main functions are:

  •   All-direction electrical scan mode without mechanical scanning, long continuous working time and high reliability.
  •   Powerful detection capability for moving targets on the ground.
  •   Flexible beam scan mode, including circular scan, sector scan, stare, cross-over sector scan and etc.,

applicable to the requirement of different missions.

  All-weather automatic search, automatic alarm on ground and low-altitude targets, able to remote

control and unattended operation.

  The sealed design can improve the working adaptability under a complex weather environment with

functions of rainproof, windproof, snow-proof, dust-proof, salt-proof and so on.

  Low transmitting power, low power consumption, and low probability of interception.

3.1.2 Photoelectric Detector / camera sensors

Photoelectric detector includes visible light TV camera, thermal infrared imager, laser rangefinder, precision turntable and intelligent video processor, It can perform automatic tracking, identification and detection of targets all-time under the complex environment. The laser rangefinder is an optional device, which can measure the distance of targets precisely.

The functions are:

  •   Searching, tracking, identifying and positioning targets day and night, measuring location and moving trace of target in real time, providing the command system with target indication information.
  •   Setup of the sensitive preset point and preset point scanning.
  •   Observe targets with fog penetration beyond visual range, which can effectively extend the

observation distance in a fog and haze weather.

  Its embedded intelligent video image processing system can meet the needs of target searching, acquisition, tracking and identifying under the complex geographical environment.
